Eco-council

Our Eco Council at least twice a month to discuss ways to reduce, reuse, recycle and to protect our environment.

They work together to create our Eco action plan and raise awareness of green issues within school and help to improve the environment.

Each class has elected two Eco councillors who represent their class by collecting their ideas to share with the other Eco councillors.

Our  Eco-Council has been elected and they are going to be working hard all year to try and improve our school.

We have 10 Super Eco Councillors this year made up of Year One and Year Two pupils. They are

  •  Aniela

  • Esa

  • Amira

  • Ibrahim

  • Mikaela

  • Sacha

  • Amaya

Our 3 Areas of Improvement this year

During our first few eco council meetings we have completed our environment review and written our action plan about how we are going to make our school the best eco friendly environment it can be. We decided we are going to focus on 3 key areas for improvement these are

Litter

We are going to make sure our school playground and surrounding local area are tidy and free from litter. We are going to do regular litter picks to ensure litter is placed in the bins.

Electricity

We are going to try and encourage all members of our school community to reduce the amount of electricity we use. We are going to monitor which classes switch off their lights and whiteboards when their classrooms are empty. We might even check Mrs Mabberley's office.

Transport

We are going to hold a walk, bike and scoot to school week as there are lots of children who come to school in the cars which can damage the environment.

Check back for further updates - this week we are conducting our first survey of our how children come to school.

We have been awarded our Bronze award
