    Makaton is a language programme that combine signs, symbols and speech that enables people to communicate. Using signs can help people who do not use speech. Makaton supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention and listening, comprehension, memory, recall and organisation of language and expression. This video models helpful Makaton to use at home.

  • Child's Progress Checker Speech and Language UK is a charity which offers a progress checker that parents and carers can use to identify areas that their child might be having difficulties in. At the end of the check, they direct you to helpful advice and resources to support your child at home. The charity also offers a free 30 minute confidential phone call with an experienced speech and language therapist if you are concerned about your child's talking and understanding of words.
